June 27th - Day 15
I am pretty sure kids have aunts and uncles in their lives to make sure they are spoiled every so often. Being with Becca’s aunt and uncle today, or our kid’s great aunt and uncle, our kids were spoiled…
After Uncle Rich made a pancake breakfast for everyone, we soon headed out for the day. Besides being the land of 10,000 lakes, Minnesota is also home to the Mall of America. For those of you who are not aware, the Mall of American is not just a large mall; it is a large mall with an entire amusement park within it. This is how the kids chose to spend the day (I personally would have preferred one of the 10,000 lakes).
A few highlights of the day:
All of the kids thoroughly enjoyed the amusement park at Mall of America. Aubrey and Elias, along with Becca’s cousin Evan, went on a number of roller coasters, upside down rides, or really anything that may make a parent sick.
I went on a single ride with Obadiah and nearly felt sick when I got off. The ride was geared for 3-5 year olds, but I guess that is now too much for me. I must be getting old.
After we got back to the house and ate dinner, the kids and I, along with their Uncle Rich, went swimming at the pool in the neighborhood. The kids ask to go swimming virtually anywhere that has a pool, so this was just an added bonus to the already exciting day.
Becca and her Aunt Pam enjoyed an evening walk through the neighborhood as the kids, Rich, and I went swimming.
With staying with Becca’s aunt and uncle and being able to ride in their cars anywhere we went, today was the first day of the trip that we did not drive the RV anywhere. I’m not sure how many of these days we’ll have on the trip, but there should be a few.
