July 26th - Day 44
With the RV being fairly confined, we took the opportunity today to all go in different directions. Aubrey ventured into Utah, Elias into Colorado, Ilena into Arizona, and Obadiah into New Mexico; with Cassidy straddling the middle. Fortunately, we were able to regroup after everyone’s journey into different states and continue on our way to the Grand Canyon.
A few highlights/memorable moments from the day:
We packed up and headed out of Mesa Verde this morning. Before leaving though, we had to say goodbye to our good friends Jennifer, Tyler, and Mikayla.
On our journey to the Grand Canyon, we stopped at Four Corners. Four Corners is where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona come together. It is the only place in the US, where four states come together. It is also the place where we all stood in different states at one time. Some of us even put a foot or hand into each of the states at the same time as if we were playing twister.
We arrived at the Grand Canyon and are staying in the Desert View campground on the eastern end of the south rim. Upon arriving at the campground, we were joined by Becca’s cousin and her husband who will be adventuring with us for the next couple of days.
