June 15th - Day 3
Today was our first opportunity to have a more relaxed day without any driving. It was much needed after the last two days! We had a slow morning with a pancake breakfast in the RV, a family read-aloud, and then a beautiful hike around a portion of Jackson Lake where water levels are severely low. After a trip through the visitors center for Jr. Ranger forms, showers and laundry; we spent the 2nd half of the afternoon facilitating a much needed rest/nap time in the RV and the campsite. Our younger 2 could not nap on the driving days and the long days/late nights have taken their tole. We had dinner in our campsite and then had to take an unexpected trip to drain the "grey water” when doing dishes in the RV made it clear it was necessary. Not a very exciting day, but one still full of beautiful views (pictured below). You’ll also see art created yesterday by Ilena & Obadiah as we drove.
A few highlights of the day (from Elias):
Going on a 2.25 mile family hike that was filled with beautiful views that Aubrey couldn’t stop photographing with her new Samsung Galaxy that she got for her 14th birthday.
We used overpriced showers, but getting clean felt good!
We did our laundry in a laundry mat (also very expensive), and something us kids had never experienced before.
Mom and I scootered around the campground for some exercise.
We ate ice cream in the RV while Daddy disposed of the “grey water”.
